The Process
Little or no timber arrives at our sawmill that is immediately viable for resale. Each batch is De-nailed, any splits removed and moisture content calculated.
The wood is then held as a stock item in one of our warehouses until selected to meet an individual customer enquiry. We then routinely plane to a thickness and size to width. Today’s customers commonly choose to retain the original top surface in order to retain the patina of age.
Bulk timbers such as French oak, thick roof boards and joists are re sawn to provide boards of a usable thickness and provide the alternative of old or new surfaces.
Our strength lies in the depth and variety of stock that we hold, which rarely fails to provide a product to suits customers’ needs.
